Holiday Inn Gaithersburg Hotel Wins City of Gaithersburg Environmental Award 2010!
The Holiday Inn Gaithersburg hotel is pleased to announce it has received a Gaithersburg Environmental Award for its efforts to improve Gaithersburg's environment. The scope of the award includes pollution prevention, recycling, green purchasing, energy and water conservation measures, tree planting, pest management and environmental education.
The City of Gaithersburg seeks to show appreciation and recognize members of the community for giving back to the environment, while encouraging others to get involved in making the city a greener place to live, work and play. The award was presented by Gaithersburg Mayor, Sidney Katz, to Holiday Inn General Manager, Melvin Nichols. Mr. Nichols was grateful to accept to accept this honor at the ceremony on April 19th, 2010, stating, "We are honored to receive this award again and are grateful our efforts to beautify our hotel grounds and the City of Gaithersburg were recognized."
The plaque is displayed in our newly-renovated hotel lobby. The Holiday Inn Gaithersburg recently planted an abundance of trees, decorative grasses, colorful flowers and bushes, creating a beautiful landscape.
